Draftkings Cash Game Thoughts Week 15
QB:
$6.5K Deshaun Watson @ Tennessee Titans
This week is pretty ugly at the QB position with no Lamar Jackson on the main slate. Watson has one of the safest floors and upside in this spot at Tennessee in what looks to be a potential shootout. He has rushed for over 40 yards in five games this season and is averaging over 26 DK points per game over his last three despite missing the 300 yard bonus in all of those games. This sets up as a great spot for Watson and the Houston offense and he is the only QB I feel comfortable with in cash games this week.
$5.6K Philip Rivers vs Minnesota Vikings
If you are looking to save some salary then I believe Rivers is your man. Rivers is priced as the 22nd highest QB this week which is pretty disrespectful considering he is averaging over 18 DK points per game this season. Additionally, he gets an excellent matchup against the Vikings secondary that has been dusted all season long and he is always a threat for the 300 yard bonus. I’m almost always finding the money to get up to Watson this week but Rivers is certainly tempting.
RB:
$7.5K Chris Carson @ Carolina Panthers
I understand if people want to be cautious regarding Chris Carson and his fumbling issues. That being said, the fact of the matter is that Rashad Penny is no longer there to threaten his workload and anytime the Seahawks have been without Penny is when they lean on Carson heavily. Carson has seen 20 or more carries in seven games this season and many of those games were without Penny. Lastly, the Seahawks have one of the highest implied team totals of the slate and the Carolina Panthers have been dead last all season in fantasy points allowed to the RB position.
$4.5K Patrick Laird @ New York Giants
Laird is a strong value at the RB position this week as he has commanded the bulk of the work in Miami’s backfield. He has five or more targets in three of his last four games and now gets a good matchup against the Giants who are bottom half in fantasy points allowed to RBs and tend to struggle with pass catching RBs. Lastly, Miami could be without Davante Parker leaving them with very limited playmakers outside of Laird and Gesicki.
WR:
$8K Deandre Hopkins @ Tennessee Titans
Hopkins has 89 targets over his last 8 games and always has one of the highest ceilings among WRs in a given week. The Texans may be without Will Fuller once again and Hopkins historically dominates the Titans secondary. I’m not going to overthink this one as Watson – Hopkins stacks are one of the best spends of the week.
$3.7K Justin Watson @ Detroit Lions
The Bucs lost Mike Evans for the rest of the season and are now going to lean on some of these other pass catchers. Justin Watson should see the biggest role change as he saw eight targets after the Evans injury on Sunday. Additionally, he is very cheap as he is priced under $4k and Detroit is one of the juiciest matchups in the league for opposing WRs. He is one of the top values of the week in all formats.
TE:
$3.1K Ian Thomas vs Seattle Seahawks
Ian Thomas was the chalk lock last week at $2.5K and he came through for us in a big way. I was a bit surprised to only see his salary increase by $600 and I feel that he is a total lock once again. Dating back to last season, Thomas has a history of being heavily involved in the passing game when he is on the field and that was just as evident last week when he saw 10 targets. I expect Olsen to miss again and Thomas will become the best value at the position.
$3.9K Tyler Higbee @ Dallas Cowboys
I still prefer Thomas for the savings but Tyler Higbee has been quietly having a breakout party with Gerald Everett sidelined. He has gone over 100 yards in back to back games and saw 19 targets in that span. Lastly, the Cowboys are bottom 12 this season in fantasy points allowed to the TE position.
D/ST
$2.3K Detroit Lions vs Tampa Bay Bucs
As always, we can look to target the defense that is playing against Jameis Winston. Winston remains the most turnover prone QB in the entire league and now we get a cheap Detroit defense at home. You had me at “Cheap home defense against Winston.”
$3.4K Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins
If you have the salary then the Eagles are one of the best spend up at the position plays this week. They get to face another turnover prone QB in Haskins and their defensive pass rush remains strong in this matchup. I think they are able to get a lot of pressure on Haskins and force some turnovers and sacks. I still prefer paying down but will have more exposure to them in GPPs.
