Fanduel Cash Game Thoughts Week 6
Coming off what was the highest scoring week that I could remember, I’m excited to see what this week has to offer. Basically, if you played CMC, Fuller and Matt Ryan than you likely cashed. If you played Amari Cooper and Aaron Jones as well then you probably cleaned up. We’ll do our best to identify the right way to attack this week’s slate.
QB:
$7.7K Kyler Murray vs ATL – Primary Target
Kyler Murray certainly isn’t cheap but there are almost no cheap QBs that I would feel comfortable playing this week. Murray is at home in a good matchup against an Atlanta defense that has surrendered the second most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season. While the Arizona offense hasn’t looked all that great this season, it hasn’t effected Murray much as we have seen him exceed salary based expectation in four of their five games. Additionally, he has yet to have a ceiling game in the NFL yet but I think it’s coming. Over the last three games he is averaging just under 60 rushing yards and has two touchdowns with his legs in that span. He is one of the top point per dollar plays at QB as he is only the seventh most expensive on FanDuel.
$6.9K Gardner Minshew II vs NO – Secondary Target
Mustache Minshew is still underpriced on FanDuel, even after the big performance against Carolina last week. The crazy thing is that he is priced as the 15th highest QB on just a 10 game slate after throwing for 374 yards and two touchdowns! Last week was also the second time this season that he rushed for over 40 yards so he adds some decent value with his legs as well. The game total isn’t great but I could see this game going over like last week’s did and Minshew is just too cheap to ignore. He is the only viable cheap QB this week and it isn’t all that close.
RB:
$7.3K Leonard Fournette vs NO – Primary Target
Leonard Fournette has been seeing bell cow usage all season. He now gets a favorable matchup against the Saints as a home favorite. He has rushed for over 300 yards in his last two games and been over 20 FD points in both of those. With Carson only $100 cheaper as opposed to $700 cheaper on DK, it makes sense to prioritize Fournette on Fanduel this week.
$6.8K Le’Veon Bell vs DAL – Secondary Target
I fully understand that nobody is excited to roster any Jets players this season. With that being said, Bell has seen way too much usage to be priced below some of these other RBs and with Darnold back under Center, I love him this week. He has seen nine targets in three of the four games this year and has only scored one touchdown this season so we should see some positive regression there. Ultimately, if you think the Jets keep this game within a touchdown as the Vegas line projects, then you have to believe that Bell is a big reason why.
WR:
$7.8K Cooper Kupp vs SF – Primary Target
What even needs to be said about Cooper Kupp this season? The guy comes back from major surgery and just absolutely dominates every week. He has now gone over 100 yards receiving in four straight games and has four touchdowns in that span as well. He is in the NFL’s leader in targets and has one of the highest team totals on the slate. Just play Kupp this week.
$6.4K Tyler Boyd @ BAL – Secondary Target
It may have taken some time last week but Boyd eventually got there again with a big performance. He now has 53 targets in five games this season and continues to be the primary option in that offense. To make things better, Baltimore has been gashed by the slot position this season and Boyd is underpriced considering his role and matchup.
TE:
$6.4K Austin Hooper @ AZ – Primary Target
Hooper has been crushing all season as he has been one of the main beneficiaries of this Atlanta offense focusing more on the passing game. He is averaging over eight targets per game this season and now gets the nut matchup against Arizona who has given up the most fantasy points to the position this year. It comes down to price but if you have the salary then Hooper is the play for me. I prioritize him more on Fanduel because there are real no good cheap TE’s to play.
$6K Gerald Everett vs SF – Secondary Target
Gerald Everett is a great option this week but is not nearly as cheap on Fanduel. Not only did he go over 100 yards receiving last week, but he has seen 19 targets over the past two games. Additionally, he has seen his routes increase over the last four weeks, running a route on 73% of Jared Goff’s drop backs against the Seahawks. I want to get exposure to these high team totals and Everett is an excellent way to do when the position is weak overall.
D/ST:
$3.4K Kansas City Chiefs vs HOU – Primary Target
The Chiefs are an excellent choice this week as a cheap defense at home in a high total game which could keep their ownership relatively low which I love. The Texans give up a ton of sacks and the D/ST position could be so high variance from week to week that I think this week is the right week to pay down to save salary. Surprisingly they are the fourth cheapest at the position this week! They are my top D/ST of the week in cash and tournaments.
$3.5K Arizona Cardinals vs ATL – Secondary Target
I mentioned how I want to pay down at the position this week and the Cards are another great option if you are going total punt this week. The Falcons offensive line has struggled tremendously and the Cards have 12 sacks through five games so if they even get a few this week then they likely pay off salary. With that being said, because the Chiefs are somehow $100 cheaper, I strongly prefer them.
